Traffic cops must check before towing vehicles

Sir,

My two-wheeler was today picked up by V.V.Puram Traffic Police Station from V.V.Mohalla Post Office claiming to be parked in ‘No Parking’ zone.

The board of no parking has clearly faded away (rather appearing as ‘Parking’ board).  This clearly mislead general public.  Despite explaining the situation Traffic Police argued that I still have to pay the towing charges as they have hired a private vehicle for this job, while they will now get the board painted clearly. I had to pay towing charges of Rs. 200 (for which no receipt is given).

Question is should the board be clear and visible to public before towing the vehicle or is the focus of Police department more on collecting money and meet their target and get the sign board corrected later on?

I have attached the picture of this so-called ‘No Parking’ board near V.V .Mohalla Post Office the way it appears when approaching from left side of Post Office.

Will the higher Police officials concerned look into this? Instead of harassing general public and focusing their attention on making money by charging fines/charges, they may rather look into such faded/broken sign boards and get them corrected?
