Mysuru: Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) – Traffic, Parashuramappa, has warned two-wheeler riders of initiating legal action if they are caught performing wheelie and stunts on the pretext of celebrating the New Year.
The ACP, who summoned 31 persons against whom ‘wheelie’ cases, have been registered earlier and also their parents to Siddarthanagar Traffic Police Station yesterday, issued warnings to the traffic offenders and told them that cases would be registered against them if they were caught performing the stunt again.
Pointing out that traffic offences such as helmetless riding, triple riding, rash and negligent riding etc. would result in accidents sometimes fatal, the ACP advised them not to harm or inconvenience others while riding their two-wheelers.
Of the 53 wheelie offenders, 31 took part in the parade yesterday.
Siddarthanagar Traffic Inspector Sridhar, Sharath from KR Traffic, Rekha Bai from NR Traffic, Mamatha from Devaraja Traffic and VV Puram Traffic Sub-Inspector Gautham Gowda were present.
