Traffic Police must ensure proper working of existing signal lights

Sir,

This refers to the news item “10 more Circles to get signal lights” in SOM dated Dec.1.  Though it is a good move on the part of City Traffic Police to install signals at ten more Circles and junctions, it is also important to note that the existing Circles/junctions with traffic lights installed work seamlessly.

For instance, the most chaotic junction near Vijayanagar Water Tank is having signal lights, but without functioning.  Similarly, the busy junction near B.M. Hospital is not considered.

Another dangerous and  deadly chaotic junction is a Circle just widened with metalling of roads a few yards away from Vijayanagar Water Tank, in front of State Bank of India. The dense traffic here always gets choked both in morning and evening peak hours.

Like this, there may be many more Circles or junctions, which are to be considered on priority.  I request the Mysuru City Traffic Police to consider these junctions too and install signal lights and also ensure proper working of the existing traffic lights which are defunct or inoperative.
