Traffic Police notify speed limit on Outer Ring Road

Mysore/Mysuru: With the city witnessing a rise in fatal road accidents, the City Police in a bid to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians and to regulate traffic movement, have notified vehicle speed limit on Outer Ring Road (ORR). The details are as below:

The speed limit of vehicles on ORR and on roads leading to the inner areas of the city from ORR is as follows:

Class of Vehicle                  Speed limit on roads leading to On ORR, inner areas of the city from ORR      

Car (LMV)                           40 km/ hr, 60 km/ hr

Bus & Two-Wheelers 30 km/ hr, 50 km/ hr

Autorickshaw and all 30 km/ hr, 40 km/ hr

types of Goods Vehicles

Tractor 20 km/ hr, 20 km/ hr

Also, the speed limit on Mysuru-Hunsur Road, Mysuru-Gaddige Road, Mysuru-T. Narasipur Road, Mysuru-Bannur Road, Mahadevapura Road and KRS Road (all ORR to city limits) for different category of vehicles is as follows:

Class of Vehicle Speed limit

Car (LMV) 40 km/ hr

Bus & Two-wheelers 30 km/ hr

Autorickshaw and all types of Goods Vehicles 30 km/ hr

Tractor 20 km/ hr

The speed limit on the stretch from city limits to ORR on Mysuru-Bengaluru Road is as follows:

Car (LMV)  60 km/ hr

Bus & Two-wheelers 50 km/ hr

Autorickshaw and all types of Goods Vehicles 40 km/ hr

This Speed limit notification has come into effect from Mar.14, according to a press release issued by the office of the City Police Commissioner.
