‘Traffic rules are for your safety, follow them’

Mysuru:“Traffic rules are made for your safety and for public protection which one should always follow to prevent accidents,” said DCP (Crime and Traffic) Dr. Vikram V. Amathe.

Replying to questions pertaining to management of heavy traffic density and tourists during Dasara put forth by SOM, he said that every two-wheeler rider must carry his valid DL before hopping on his bike or scooter, wear helmet, should not speak on cell phones while riding, should not drink and drive, should not jump signals, should follow lane discipline etc. which would not only help the motorist to ride safely but is also helpful to the public.

Suggesting two-wheeler riders to ride slowly on the left side of the road and ride cautiously while riding on the right side keeping in mind the speed limit, he asked the motorists to park their vehicles in the designated parking spaces and not to park vehicles haphazardly on the roads which hinders the smooth flow of traffic which may result in fatalities.

He warned the motorists of taking stringent action if they do not follow traffic rules.
