Traffic signal lights needed

Sir,

In spite of having barricades to slow down vehicles on Hunsur Road, the woes faced by the motorists at the “T” junction of Gokulam Road and Hunsur Road is yet to be mitigated. Vehicles come from three directions and block free movement towards all the three directions causing utter confusion.

Every motorist is “in a hurry” and no one wants to give space for fellow drivers/riders. Earlier Home Guards used to be seen around this junction and now at times we find a Traffic Policeman sitting on his two-wheeler much away from the junction, busy with his mobile.

It is high time traffic signals are erected at this junction. Our Traffic Police Department is earning a good revenue, as fine from the traffic rules violators and they will continue to earn, since many Mysureans do not believe in adhering to basic traffic rules.

At least a part of the penalty collected should be ploughed back to the society to mitigate the woes faced by the tax-payers.

I request the authorities concerned to seriously consider to erect traffic signal lights at the junction of Gokulam Road and Hunsur Road.
