Mysuru: The 8-month training programme of 2nd batch of trainee women Constables was launched at Police Training School in Jyotinagar here this morning.
Totally, 248 women from 27 districts have been selected for Police training among whom are two engineering graduates, 26 post-graduates and rest graduates with only 37 PUC which is said to be the minimum qualification required for the post. Most of the candidates are from rural areas.
Inaugurating the training programme, DGP (Training) Premshankar Meena said that the selection process was totally transparent. He further said that the programme covers both indoor and outdoor categories with indoor training covering an insight to human rights, various types of crime, computer training and scientific development and outdoor activity covering fitness schedule. He advised the trainees to go by social and moral ethics and put all effort to learn the basics. He reminded the trainees that Police service was round-the-clock and not confined to limited hours.
IGP (Training) Bijay Kumar Singh, School Principal Dr. Dharanidevi Malagathi and others were present.
