Mysore/Mysuru: The two-day training workshop on “Basics of Physiologically-based Pharmacokinetic (PBPK) Modelling and Hands-on Training on GastroPlus X.2” was held at JSS College of Pharmacy in city recently.
Vice-Principal Dr. G.V. Pujar emphasised on the growing importance of integrating computational tools in pharmacokinetic research and drug development.
The workshop was convened by Head and Associate Professor Dr. Gangadharappa, who highlighted the critical role of PBPK modelling in enhancing translational research and informed decision-making in pharmaceutical sciences.
Technical sessions were conducted by Principal Scientist and Scientific Lead at India – PBPK Solutions at Simulation Plus Dr. Anant Ketkar.
The software serves as a vital tool in modern pharmaceutical research by enabling accurate prediction of drug behaviour, optimisation of formulations and reduction in dependency on extensive experimental studies. It was co-ordinated by Organising Secretaries Dr. K.M. Asha Spandana and Dr. G.S. Meghana.
