Transportation woes of Maharani’s College students

Mysuru:  Hundreds of rural students of Maharani’s Arts and Commerce College, operating from the new building on Valmiki Road here, are said to be out into a lot of inconvenience for lack of public transport to reach the College.

But for the buses plying on Mysuru-Bilikere route, no other bus stops on Hunsur Road near the College and the students are forced to walk from the sub-urban bus stand to reach the College. It is a common sight to see groups of girls walking hurriedly at 9 am every day through various access roads to reach the College after getting down from buses plying on Bogadi Road. The daily plight of students obviously force them not to concentrate on studies, opine the parents of students.

Students residing in N.R. Mohalla, Udayagiri, Rammanahalli, Hanchya and Alanahalli too find it to difficult to come to College owing to lack of city buses plying on the required route.

The aggrieved students allege that neither the College authorities nor the KSRTC officials were concerned about their problems.
