Tree pruning: Need for coordination between CESC and MCC

Sir,

The above two photos are of line of trees on Vishwa Dhathri Main Road from Vivekananda Circle, Kuvempunagar.

As you can see, these trees are dangerously leaning on the road side, may be due to regular pruning by CESC of the interfering branches on the other side which has overhead electric wires.

This is the common scene in almost all the places even on the cross roads and lanes. It poses a great threat to walk or drive on such roads fearing tree falling suddenly.

Also, it is seen that CESC staff do not clear the cut branches which lie on the footpath or the roads for months on end. Neither the MCC clears the fallen branches immediately. Public have to suffer in silence.

I feel there is need for better communication and coordination between the two public utilities so that public is served well and protected from dangers lurking on the streets.

Heavily slanting trees need to be pruned properly on the road side also or to be removed regularly with the cooperation of  Forest authorities.

Hope all concerned will get into action before some unfortunate incident occurs.
