Tribute to Padmacharan: Online music concert by Vid. S. Shankar on Saturday

Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust, Mysuru, under its ‘Karnataka Vaggeya Vahini’ series, will be premiering an online vocal concert by Vid. S. Shankar, featuring the compositions of ‘Sangeetha Kalaratna’ A.V. Krishnamachar, popularly known as ‘Padmacharan’ on Saturday (July 31) at 5 pm to commemorate his centenary year.  

Vid. Padmacharan was an eminent violinist, music director and vaggeyakara. His creative music has immortalised several poems of Kannada poets, Dasa Sahithya and Vachanas. An accomplished musician, he is also well-known as a vaggeyakara having composed many works in Karnatak classical music.        

Vid. S. Shankar will be accompanied by Vid. R. Achyutha Rao on violin, Vid. B. R. Srinivas on mridanga and Vid. Sunaad Anoor on khanjira.
