Trin Trin docking stations to be increased

July 20, 2017

Mysuru: Trin Trin, the first Public Bicycle Sharing (PBS) system in Asia is getting very encouraging response by the day and hence more docking stations should be established, said Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep.

He was addressing a meeting at the Court Hall of the DC office here on Tuesday and said that a decision will be taken to increase the number of Trin Trin docking stations, after a discussion with the departments concerned.

Green Wheel Rides’ Sagar said, there are 49 docking stations in the city and in all the stations, demand is increasing. Already 3,600 people have registered and everyday 60 to 70 people are registering and 800 rides happening. Except one or two incidents, neither the bicycles nor the docking stations have been damaged.

MCC Assistant Commissioner and Trin Trin scheme Nodal Officer Javaregowda said  that earlier, the Corporators who were opposing the scheme were now wanting docking stations in their wards too after Trin Trin was becoming popular.

Gold card with Trin Trin: The suggestions came in the meeting that if the Trin Trin facility were linked to the Gold Card issued during Dasara festivities, it would benefit the card holders. Responding to this DC Randeep said that if zero traffic is created around Palace and Zoo during Dasara then the tourists could make use of Trin Trin facility. A decision would be taken in subsequent meetings, he added.
