TV journalist granted anticipatory bail

Mysuru: A City Court has granted anticipatory bail to a TV journalist who was accused of raping and cheating a woman Police Sub-Inspector of the city.

The woman PSI had lodged a complaint at Udayagiri Police  Station accusing TV journalist Ram of raping and cheating her, following which Ram moved the Court seeking anticipatory bail.

City’s 7th Additional District and Sessions Judge C. Chandrashekar, who heard the petition, granted conditional  anticipatory bail to Ram on a personal bond of Rs. 50,000  and a surety.

Ram has been asked by the Court not to threaten the complainant and her family, not to destroy evidence and not to engage in criminal activities.

The Court has also asked him to co-operate with the investigating authorities on medical tests and also to give blood  samples for DNA test.
