Mysuru: Vid. Samarth Salagundi and Sumedha Salagundi, both students from New Jersey, USA, will be presenting vocal concerts at the residence of Mysore Vasudevacharya in city on Sunday (Aug. 16).
They will be accompanied by Vid. H.N. Raghunandan on violin and Vid. K. Sreehari Bhat on mridanga. Samarth’s presentation is scheduled to start at 10.30 am while Sumedha will be singing between 12 noon and 1.30 pm. The programme is open to all music lovers.

Samarth, now 18 and the 13-year-old Sumedha are both undergoing advanced training under Vidu. S. Aishwarya from Bengaluru. They began their journey in Karnatak music at the age of six and have evolved to be promising young vocalists.
In addition to vocal training, Sumedha is also learning Karnatak violin from S. Saundarya.
Samarth has earned recognition in several prestigious competitions, including those conducted by Saptami Foundation, Dallas. Sumedha too has won prizes in competitions and has received awards at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana Festival and at CMANA (Carnatic Music Association of North America).
Raghunandan, a second year engineering student with a strong passion for music, has honed his musical abilities under the guidance of Vid. H.K. Subbarao and Vid. H.V. Raghuram. He has accompanied several performing artistes during his journey as a violinist.
Sreehari Bhat, currently pursuing 1st PUC, is under training in mridanga under Vid. S.V. Balakrishna and in vocal under Vidu. Smruthi Bhaskar. He has performed on several prestigious stages, including those at N.R. Colony Rama Mandira and Bangalore Gayana Samaja.
