Twist in six-month-old woman’s missing case

Father-son arrested for murder

Srirangapatna: The six-month-old missing case of a woman at Srirangapatna Rural Police Station, has taken a twist following the arrest of the woman’s husband and minor son on charges of murdering her.

Dy.SP Sandesh Kumar told media persons yesterday that the arrested are 46-year-old Ramesh and his minor son of Seethapura village. They had murdered Bhavya (35) on July 26 and had thrown the body into Cauvery River. The body is yet to be traced and the accused have been remanded to judicial custody, he added.

Ramesh, who allegedly murdered his wife with the help of his minor son, had thrown the body into Cauvery River and the next day, he had lodged a missing complaint with the Police.

The Police, who had registered a case, conducted investigation and following doubts on Ramesh, they subjected him to interrogation during which Ramesh is said to have confessed of murdering his wife Bhavya with the help of his son. He has further told the Police that as his wife had illicit relationship, he had murdered her and thrown the body into the river.

Srirangapatna Rural Police said that they have launched a hunt to trace the body in Cauvery River.
