Hunsur: Hunsur Forest Department officials have arrested two of the four persons, who had entered the forest illegally to poach wild animals.
On Nov. 15 at about 11 pm, H.R. Abhilash, M.R. Kiran, Swamy and Shreyas had entered Nagarahole Forest to hunt wild animals. Meanwhile, the officials and staff of Anechowkur in Hunsur Wildlife Division of Nagarahole Tiger Reserve, who were on their regular patrolling, noticed the poachers and tried to arrest them during which Swamy and Shreyas managed to flee and the Forest officials arrested Abhilash and Kiran.
The arrested poachers were interrogated and investigation is on. The Forest officials have launched a hunt to trace and nab Swamy and Shreyas, who are absconding.
Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) and Nagarahole Tiger Reserve Director P.A. Seema, Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) N. Lakshmikanth, Range Forest Officer (RFO) D. Devaraju, Deputy Range Forest Officer (DRFO) P.L. Ramanna and staff S.N. Anil, Pradeep Dalavai, Akshay & Madhu took part in the nabbing operation.
