Two arrested for lifting two-wheelers

Mysore/Mysuru: Narasimharaja (NR) Police have arrested two persons on charges of lifting two-wheelers in city and have recovered four vehicles worth Rs. 1.30 lakh from them.

Those arrested are 27-year-old Atiq Ulla and 29-year-old Syed Irfan, both residents of Kalyangiri.

The accused, on Dec. 12, 2023, had lifted a Honda Activa scooter (KA-55-V-4559), which was parked near the RTO Office on the Ring Road following which NR Police had registered a case.

The Police caught them on Jan. 8 at about 10 am, when they were attempting to sell the stolen scooter at a very less price near Pushpashrama Junction.

During interrogation, the Police came to know that the accused were stealing two-wheelers in Bannimantap, Outer Ring Road and other parts of the city using duplicate keys.

Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered one Hero Splendour bike, one Suzuki Access scooter, one Honda Activa scooter and one TVS Jupiter scooter from them.

NR Sub-Division ACP C.K. Ashwathnarayan guided NR Inspector Lakshmikanth Talawar, Sub-Inspector Ganesh and staff Adam, Doddegowda, Sunil, Basavaraj, Veeresh and Mohan in the nabbing and seizing operation.
