Chunchanakatte: The two-day ‘Jala-pathotsava’ at Chunchanakatte water falls, organised jointly by District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Department of Tourism and Department of Kannada and Culture, concluded last evening. Thousands of visitors watched with awe the roaring water falls splashed with colours from laser beams.
The attraction doubled during the cultural programme where actor ‘Kichcha’ Sudeep appeared on stage when Music Director Arjun Janya and troupe were presenting a music programme belting popular numbers.
The programme also featured folk songs by Dr. P.K. Rajashekar and trope followed by another musical ‘Mathe Kannadave Sathya’ presented by Shuba Raghavendra, Sunitha, Nagesh, Vinay, Mangala, Shruti and Mahendra.
The cultural programme was excellently compered by the ever-bubbly Anushri.
Delayed programme: The incessant rain played spoilsport delaying the commencement of the programme with thousands of people waiting to have a glimpse of Actor Sudeep, Arjun Janya and others braving the rain under umbrellas. A documentary on facts of K.R. Nagar taluk was also screened during the programme. The Police had arranged elaborate security to thwart any untoward incident.
