Two-day Congress Mega Rally: Venue deserted; stalls abandoned on day two

Mysuru: The Maharaja’s College Grounds that was a beehive of activity yesterday wore a deserted look this morning, the second day of the mega Congress show.

Over 25,000 people had attended the ‘Kotta Maatu Ditta Sadhane’ programme that began yesterday to highlight the achievements of Congress Government in Karnataka led by Chief Minister Siddharamaiah.

Though it was announced that it was a two-day event, a part of the massive pendals were being removed when Star of Mysore visited the College grounds this morning. More than 50 stalls that were set up by various Departments were found abandoned.

Apart from the workers who were engaged in removing the pendals and cut-outs, there was not a single official at the venue. Most of the senior officials of the district were busy with CM’s    engagements in city this morning.

As part of the cultural events, playback singer Naveen Sajju will perform from 7 pm to 9 pm today. Prior to that, Swaha Team will perform with percussion  music from 6 pm to 7 pm.
