Two-day cultural event concludes at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan

Hindustani fusion by Kalabharati wing of BVB Mysuru at the valedictory of two-day Bhavanotsava at BVB premises in Vijayanagar.

Mysuru/Mysore: The Kalabharati wing of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Mysuru, had organised music and dance programmes at its premises in Vijayanagar 1st stage recently. 

The programme was held as part of valedictory event of ‘Bhavanotsava’, a two-day festival of music, dance and performing arts, marking the 132nd birth anniversary of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB) Founder Kulapati Dr. K.M. Munshi on Feb. 8 and 9.

The valedictory event began with an invocation by Sridhar, Raju, Manu along with Vidwan Prabhurao, who melodiously rendered ‘Ram Ka Gungaan Kariye’. This was followed by a dance recital, ‘Swagatham,’ directed by Vidushi Ananya, Bindu and a team of 17 students including Sahana, Meghana, Sushma, Monisha, Ganavi, Shubha, Anusha, Bhavyasri and others.

Later, Vidushi Harinath and his team including Ramya, Chandrika, Shobha, Anagha, Purnachandra, Kavita, Lakshminarayana and Niharika rendered ‘Mamavatu Sri Saraswati,’ ‘Kuhoo Kuhoo Kogile’ and other compositions, which enthralled the audience.

Later, a Karnatak music concert by Vidwan Arjun Kumar (Violin), accompanied by H.L. Shivashankara Swamy on Mridanga was held; followed by Hindustani fusion music by Kalabharati team directed by Vidwan Prabhu Rao; Violin solo by Prithvi Bhaskar and a Tabla concert by Vidwan Ramesh Dhannur and team.

BVB Bengaluru President N. Ramanuja, BVB Mysuru President Prof. A.V. Narasimha Murthy, Treasurer Dr. A.T. Bhashyam, Programme Convenor Tulasi Ramachandra and others were present .
