Mysuru: An International Workshop on Speech Processing for Voice, Speech and Hearing Disorders (WSPD-2018), a satellite event of Interspeech 2018, will be held on Sept. 8 and 9 at All India Institute of Speech And Hearing (AIISH), Mysuru.
The workshop will be attended by 50 plus experienced researchers (representing 12 different Nations) working in the speech, language and hearing disorders and speech processing areas. There will be six invited talks, four sessions of oral presentations and one poster session.
Prof. Rainer Martin from Ruhr-University, Bochum, Germany and Prof. Kris Demuynck from Data Science Lab, Ghent University, Belgium, would be the keynote speakers.
Prof. Martin’s talk would be on “Speech and Music Enhancement for Hearing Impaired Listeners” while Prof. Kris would speak on “ASISTO – an e-health tool for training and evaluating pathological speakers.”
Dr. Harinath Garudadri (UC San Diego’s Qualcomm Institute, California) and Prof. S.R. Mahadeva Prasanna (IIT, Guwahati) would be the other invited speakers. Dr. M. Pushpavathi and Dr. N. Sreedevi from AIISH will also deliver talks.
Prof. Ajish K Abraham, the Coordinator of the workshop said that thirty-one research papers will be presented in the workshop covering speech processing for voice disorders, hearing disorders and speech and language disorders.
The inaugural function of the workshop is scheduled at 9.30 am at Seminar Hall, Knowledge Park of the Institute, tomorrow. Dr. S.R. Savithri, Director, AIISH will preside.
