Mysuru: The Department of Telecommunication Engineering and the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of GSSS Institute of Engineering & Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Mysuru, had recently organised a two-day workshop on ‘MSP430 Interface with IoT’ for Pre-final year students of ECE and TCE.
The programme was attended by M. Kishore, Director (Sales), M. Rajesh, Application Engineer, K. Sathya, Application Engineer and B.S. Mahesh, Application Engineer, all from Digital Shark Technology, Bengaluru.
The Day-1 session started with introduction to MSP430, Architecture, Memory Mapping, Peripherals, introduction to Code Composer Studio V6 & Energia, interfacing GPIO ports in C using MSP430, LED control using a switch, understanding Watch Dog Timer, PWM based Speed Control of Motor controlled by potentiometer Connected to GPIO, Serial Communication: Interrupt Programming through GPIO.
On Day-2, hands-on session continued with PWM based Speed Control of Motor by potentiometer connected to GPIO, Serial Communication, Interrupt programming through GPIO and Hands on Lab to Connect and Communicate to Cloud, Building a cloud-connected moisture sensor and many more.
The session concluded with questionnaire. The workshop helped the students get new industry opportunities and innovative ideas.
Dr. B.D. Parameshachari, HoD of TCE, Dr. M.V. Sathyanarayana, HoD of ECE and staff members of Telecommunication Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering Departments were present on the occasion, according to a press release.
