Unethical practice in National Highway Toll Plazas

Sir,

Toll Plazas are collecting excess amount than the prescribed amount by the government. Last week, we were travelling from Mysuru to Bijapur through NH 50 and NH 04 in car.

To our surprise, the toll rates they were collecting is more than Re 1.1  per km for cars and in some cases it is near to Rs. 3 per km.

It’s clear exploitation of the commuters travelling on these roads since every one will be in a hurry and there is no information of the charges fixed per km for different types of vehicles.  One more serious issue is near entry point of Hospet, there is a toll which collects charges and immediately after passing the toll we need to take right to enter Hospet, surprisingly with another toll welcoming us! It means within a km we need to pay twice. Is it the correct way?

Setting up toll booths in such way that they can collect two times toll for the kilometre traveled is totally wrong. Rectify the above mentioned unethical practices and make sure that we the commuters are not exploited like this.
