Mysore/Mysuru: Two Engineering students, who had gone to KRS backwaters along with their friends were drowned in the waters.

The deceased have been identified as Chiranth (22) of Hassan and Sunil (22) of Bidar. They were pursuing their Engineering course at a private college in city.

The duo, along with their friends, had gone on a jolly ride and ventured into the waters at KRS backwaters for a swim.

The duo swam happily for about 30 minutes and while others were seeing them, they were caught in the strong current and were drowned.

Shocked on seeing their friends getting drowned, others informed the Police and Yelwal Police, who rushed to the spot, summoned expert swimmers and divers to trace and fish out the bodies.
