Two held for snatching bag

Mysuru: Devaraja Police have arrested two persons on charges of snatching a bag containing a gold chain and have recovered the chain besides seizing the scooter used for the crime.

The duo, on Nov. 22, 2017, had snatched the bag from one Susheela, who was proceeding on a scooter along with her husband between Dasappa Circle and CFTRI on KRS Road following which the victim lodged a complaint with Devaraja Police.

Based on the complaint, Devaraja Police arrested Sunny Donald, 26, a resident of R.S. Raidu Nagar, from Bengaluru on Jan. 10. During interrogation he is said to have told the cops that he along with Kiran, 22, of Hinkal had committed the crime. Following this, the Police arrested Kiran also and recovered 40 grams gold chain and seized the Honda Activa scooter.

City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subramanyeswara Rao, DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe and Devaraja Sub-Division ACP G.S. Gajendraprasad supervised Devaraja Inspector Prasannakumar, SI S. Raju, ASI Udaykumar and staff Venugopal, Somashetty, Suresh, Umesh and Nandeesh in the nabbing and seizing operation, according to a press release from the PRO, City Police Commissioner’s Office, Mysuru.
