Two held for stealing copper items from scrap shop

Mysore/Mysuru: Narasimharaja (NR) Police have arrested two persons on charges of stealing copper items from a scrap shop and have recovered 558-kg copper items worth Rs. 3.6 lakh from them.

The accused, on Dec. 26 night, had stolen the copper items and cash from Sri Beereshwara Enterprises, a scrap shop in NR Police limits and the scrap shop owner had lodged a complaint.

NR Police, who registered a case, began their investigation and on Jan. 3 took one of the accused into custody and the other accused was arrested on Jan. 4.

Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered the stolen booty and the accused are said to have confessed of spending the money they had stolen.

DCP (Crime and Traffic) S. Jahnavi, NR Sub-Division ACP C.K. Ashwathnarayan guided NR Inspector Lakshmikanth K. Talawar, Sub-Inspector S.K. Ganesh and staff T.M. Adam, M. Mohan Kumar, C. Sunil Kumar, D.S. Doddegowda, K. Eresh, C. Basavaraj and Parashuram in the nabbing and recovery operation.
