Two held for vandalising hospital in Mysuru

Hunt on to nab other accused

Mysuru:  Alanahalli Police have arrested two youths for vandalising a private hospital in city on Oct.1. The youths who had gone absconding after the incident were arrested on Oct.24.  The arrested are 24-year-old Manohar and 35-year-old Nasrulla, both residents of Raghavendra Layout in city.

According to the press release, one Preetham was admitted in the ICU at Cauvery Hospital, where he died after failing to respond to the treatment on Oct.1.

But a group of the deceased’s friends, who came to the hospital, created ruckus, assaulted duty-bound doctors and hospital staff beside vandalising the hospital and breaking medical equipment.

Alanahalli Police, who had registered a case in this regard, took up the investigation and arrested the two on Oct.24, who had gone absconding and have launched a hunt to nab others.

Action would be taken against the accused under The Karnataka Prohibition of Violence Against Medical Service Personnel and Damage to Property in Medicare Service Institutions Act, 2009, the press release stated.
