Two houses burgled in Kodagu; three coffee estate labourers arrested

Gold and silver worth Rs. 3.64 lakh recovered

Somwarpet:  The Police have arrested three coffee estate labourers on charges of looting two houses on a single day and making away with gold ornaments and silver articles on Nov. 11, 2019. The accused had burgled two houses belonging to Kaumbaiah and Ponnappa at Biligeri village in Kodagu.

Those arrested are Satish, S. Kiran of Bommanakatte in Shivamogga and K. Chandrashekar of Harige village in Shivamogga. The Police have recovered 96 grams gold jewellery worth Rs. 3,64,800 and 128 grams silver articles worth Rs. 5,760 from the accused. The Police have also seized a bike used for the crime.

Saji, S. Praveen, Naveen Kumar, Jagadish, Manjunath, driver Kumar, Kushalnagar Crime Division’s B.S. Dayanand, S.S. Sandesh and Prakash, Kodagu District CDR Cell’s Rajesh and Girish. 

SP Suman lauded the efforts of the Police and announced a cash prize. DySP Shylendra has appealed to the residents to inform the Police when they are going out of station so that the Police could keep a watch on their houses.
