Two including a woman gym trainer arrested in narcotics case

Mysore/Mysuru: Cracking the whip on smuggling and consumption of banned narcotic substances, the city’s CEN Police have arrested two persons, including a woman gymnasium trainer on charges of smuggling the banned MDMA substance.

The arrested have been identified as Anil Bobde, 25, a cook at a prestigious Star Hotel in Bengaluru and Kusuma Raj, 22, a resident of Malavalli  and a trainer at a gymnasium in Bannimantap of the city.

The two were standing along with their two-wheelers in a suspicious manner near the Trin Trin cycle stand near Chamundi Vihar Layout on Sept. 6 evening,  when Police personnel headed by Devaraja  ACP Shantamallappa who were on rounds, approached them. Upon seeing the Police vehicle, the two ran away from the spot and the Police team chased and caught the duo.

During investigation, the Police found 16.57 grams of banned MDMA substance in their possession. Anil Bobde had brought the banned substance to be delivered to Kusuma Raj, it is learnt.

The Police have seized a Dio scooter,  a Honda Activa scooter and 2 cell phones from them, it is learnt. CEN Police, have registered a case in this regard.
