It is reported that yesterday at about 5 am, two persons were travelling in a car to Chamundi Hill and when they reached near Tavarekatte atop the Hill, a pig came in the middle of the road and the person behind the wheel, who tried to avoid hitting the pig, lost control of the vehicle, hit the parapet and the car fell upside down into a ditch.

The top portion of the car was completely damaged and the two persons inside the car were struggling to come out of the car. Meanwhile, M.K. Somashekar, who saw the car fallen in the ditch, rushed towards it along with his supporters and rescued the two, who were trapped inside the car.

As the two persons inside the car were wearing seatbelts, they escaped with only minor injuries. The injured said that they would have been thrown out of the car if they had not worn seatbelts. Later, the two called their friends over the phone and got the car pulled out of the ditch and left the spot.
