H.D. Kote: Two persons were killed and four others sustained injuries, when the borewell lorry they were travelling in, toppled at Chikka Kereyur Tank bund in H.D. Kote taluk this morning.

The deceased have been identified as Avinash (23) and K. Sharavana (23), while all the injured were taken to a hospital in Mysuru for treatment.

The victims, who were all labourers and natives of Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh, were travelling in the lorry to dig a borewell near Chikka Kereyur when the lorry turned turtle.

While Avinash and Sharavana died on-the-spot, the four injured were rushed to H.D. Kote General Hospital, from where they were shifted to a hospital in Mysuru, it is learnt.

The H.D. Kote Police have registered a case in this regard.
