Two killed in road accidents

Mysore/Mysuru: A 27-year-old youth, who was riding pillion on a bike was killed on the spot, when the bike hit a road divider in Yelwal Police limits on Wednesday.

The deceased youth is Shivakumar, a resident of Ganigarahundi near Bogadi. Shivakumar was riding pillion with his relative Abhishek, when the bike hit the divider. Shocked over the accident, Abhishek is said to have fled from the spot, according to Police.

Yelwal Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.

Nanjangud: A two-wheeler rider was killed on the spot when a KSRTC bus reportedly rammed into the bike near Kalale Gate in the taluk. The deceased is Mahadevanaika (35), son of Siddanaika of Kambralli in the taluk. A labourer, Mahadevanaika on Wednesday morning, was proceeding to Nanjangud from his village and when he neared Kalale Gate, a KSRTC bus, which was proceeding towards Gundlupet from Nanjangud reportedly rammed into the bike, killing him on the spot, according to Police.

Nanjangud Traffic Police, who rushed to the spot, shifted the body to the mortuary.
