Two killed in road accidents in city

Mysore/Mysuru: In separate cases, two persons were killed in road accidents in city. While one accident took place this morning near R.T. Nagar Outer-Ring Road Junction, another fatal accident, took place in Ramakrishnanagar here last night.

In the first case, a pillion rider was killed on the spot after the motorbike allegedly collided with a truck at R.T. Nagar Ring Road Junction at about 9.30 am today.

The deceased has been identified as Nagaraju (25) and the rider, who sustained minor injuries, is 23-year-old Puneeth.

It is learnt that Puneeth, with Nagaraju as pillion rider were proceeding on their Hero Honda Splendor bike from Sa.Ra. Convention Hall side when the rider took a sudden right turn towards R.T. Nagar colliding with the truck which was passing on the other side of the road from Srirampura side. Nagaraju, who sustained serious head injuries, breathed his last on the spot.

K.R. Traffic Sub-Inspector Madan and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary, besides registering a case.

In the second incident, a two-wheeler rider was killed on the spot while the pillion rider sustained serious injuries, when they fell off from the bike and banged their heads to the kerb stone of a footpath near Kavitha Bakery junction in Ramakrishnanagar last night.

While the deceased is Bhargav, pillion rider Guruprasad, who sustained severe head injuries has been admitted to a private hospital in city.

Yesterday at about 11.45 pm, Bhargav and Guruprasad, were proceeding on a Royal Enfield bike and jumped over a speed breaker near Kavitha Bakery, resulting in both losing balance and falling off from the bike. They banged their heads to the kerb stones of the footpath and Bhargav, who sustained serious head injuries died on the spot.

K.R. Traffic Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
