Two killed in road accidents

Mysore/Mysuru: In separate incidents, two persons were killed in road accidents on T. Narasipur and Nanjangud Roads yesterday.

In the first incident, Yogesh (35), son of Venkategowda of Dhanagalli village in Bannur hobli, was killed when a car hit the bike he was riding near a petrol bunk at Alanahalli on T. Narasipur yesterday at 11.40 am.

Yogesh was proceeding on his Hero Honda Splendor bike (KA-55-EB-1354) towards Mysuru, when the Toyota Innova car (KA-42-M-1917), which came from the opposite side rammed into the bike near the petrol bunk injuring Yogesh seriously.

Though Yogesh was rushed to K.R. Hospital in city, the doctors declared him as ‘brought dead.’ Siddarthanagar Traffic Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and have registered a case.

In the second incident, a 21-year-old youth was killed in an accident between his bike and a truck near Marase village on Nanjangud Road last night.

The deceased is Premkumar, son of Mariswamy and a resident of Geekalli village in Nanjangud taluk. The deceased was an employee of a ready-made garment showroom near Jayanagar under-bridge in city.

Yesterday night, after finishing his duty, Premkumar was proceeding to his home on his bike, when the mishap took place near Marase village on Nanjangud Road between his bike and the truck at about 10.45 pm, resulting in Premkumar suffering from serious injuries. Though he was being rushed to a hospital in Mysuru, he is said to have breathed his last mid-way.

Mysuru South Rural Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, seized the truck and have registered a case. The body was shifted to MMC&RI mortuary, where post-mortem will be conducted today and the body will be handed over to the family members.
