Two killed, nine injured in auto-KSRTC bus collision

Mysuru: In a tragic accident, two persons, including a woman was killed while nine others suffered serious injuries when a KSRTC bus rammed an autorickshaw from behind near Hebbalaguppe village in H.D. Kote taluk yesterday afternoon. The deceased have been identified as Vani (40), wife of Venkataramanashetty and Naganaika (42), both residents of Hebbalaguppe village. While Vani died on the spot, Naganaika died on the way to a hospital in Mysuru, said H.D. Kote Sub-Inspector Ashok.

The injured, identified as Chinnaswamy, Anupama, Mahadevanaika, Pramilamma, Suma, Dasashetty, Manjula and others, have been admitted to K.R. Hospital and Suyog Hospital in Mysuru.

It is learnt that the autorickshaw (KA-45 0082) was proceeding from H.D. Kote Handpost to Hebbalaguppe when the KSRTC bus (KA-09 F-4121) rammed into the auto from behind near Hebbalaguppe village at about 3 pm yesterday resulting in Vani, who was sitting behind, being killed on the spot.

H.D. Kote Police who rushed to the spot on receiving information, shifted the injured to hospitals besides seizing the two vehicles and interrogating the bus driver.
