In a ghastly road mishap, two young motorcyclists were killed on the spot, when the motorcycle they were travelling was knocked down by an unidentified vehicle on Nanjangud-Gundlupet Road in the early hours of this morning.

The deceased have been identified a Mahesh (19) and Ravichandra (24) of Katwadipura in Nanjangud taluk.

The two were returning on a motorcycle after performing puja at Hediyala Temple last night, when their motorcycle was knocked down by a speeding vehicle near Yelachigere Bore on Nanjangud-Gundlupet Road.

Nanjangud Traffic Police, who rushed to the spot, have recovered some broken parts of the vehicle which knocked down the motorcycle, it is learnt.
