Two nabbed for illegal sale of liquor

Mysuru: In separate cases, the City Crime Branch (CCB) Police have arrested two persons on charges of selling liquor illegally and have seized Rs. 7,740 cash and 352 liquor packs from them.

In the first case, the CCB Police on Oct. 21, arrested a person on charges of selling liquor without permit in front of Honey Bar in SK Continental building on Male Mahadeshwara Road besides seizing Rs. 4,875 cash and 276 liquor packs from him. The arrested has been identified as B.T. Prakash of Kamatageri in Nazarbad.

During interrogation, the accused is said to have confessed of selling liquor packs following instructions from Honey Bar and Restaurant proprietors Satish Kumar and Gururaj. The Police have lodged a hunt to nab the owners who are absconding. A case has been registered at CCB Special Police Station in this regard.

In the second case, the CCB Police, on Oct. 21 took Krishna Nayak of Chennagiri Koppal into custody for selling liquor packs in front of Arya Bar and Restaurant on New Sayyaji Rao Road in K.R. Mohalla without permit and have seized Rs. 2,875 and 76 liquor packs from him.

During interrogation, Krishna Nayak is said to have confessed of selling liquor packs following instruction from the bar owners Sunil Kumar and Gururaj. The owners are said to be absconding and the cops have launched a hunt to nab them.

A case has been registered at CCB Special Police Station in this regard. CCB Inspector N.G. Krishnappa, ASI L. Subash Chandra and staff took part in the raids and seizing operations.
