Two nabbed for lifting two-wheelers in city

Bikes, scooter worth about Rs. 1 lakh recovered

Mysuru: V.V. Puram Police, on Sept. 15, took into custody two persons who were riding a Yamaha RX 135 bike without registration plate near Yadavagiri Underbridge here.

The Police, who also seized the bike, subjected them to interrogation, during which the duo is said to have confessed of lifting three two-wheelers in V.V. Puram, Devaraja and Jayalakshmipuram Police limits in city, following which the Cops formally arrested them.

The arrested have been identified as Jeevan Kumar alias Jungli of Metagalli in city and Manjunath alias Manju of Srinagar in Bengaluru.

Based on the information provided by the accused, the Cops have recovered a Hero Honda Splendor bike and a Suzuki Access scooter along with the Yamaha RX 135 bike, all worth about Rs. 1 lakh. It is learnt that the accused used to steal the two-wheelers without locks which were parked outside houses.

DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe and N.R. Sub-Division ACP Umesh G. Shet supervised V.V. Puram Inspector C.V. Ravi and staff Somashekar, Prasanna, Eeranna and Mahesh, in the nabbing and recovery operation.
