Two nabbed for trying to sell Monitor Lizard

Mysuru: The District Forest Mobile Squad has arrested two persons on charges of trying to sell a Monitor Lizard at Kadakola Bus Stand in the taluk.

The arrested persons have been identified as 50-year-old Anand, a Soliga tribal and a resident of Kadakola village and 28-year-old Rajesh, a resident of Hullahalli village in Nanjangud taluk. Acting of a tip off, the Forest Mobile Squad personnel led by SI Harish and staff, conducted an operation and arrested the duo.

During interrogation, the accused are said to have confessed of trying to sell the Monitor Lizard following which the Mobile Squad personnel handed over the accused to the Forest Officials of Mysuru Zone for further action.

Forest Mobile Squad staff Ramesh, Venkatachala Rao, Narasimhaiah, L. Manjunath, Raghu, Cheluvaraju, Pradeep and others took part in the operation.
