Two persons accused of naxal activities set free from Mysuru jail

Mysuru: Two persons, who were arrested and serving jail sentences in Mysuru Jail for their involvement in suspected naxal activities, were released from the prison yesterday.

The released suspected naxals have been identified as Nandakumar and Devendra from Shivamogga. The duo were accused of involving in naxal activities and the Andhra Pradesh Cyber Police in 2009 had arrested them.

More than 20 cases under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 was registered against Devendra and he was also accused of anti-social activities.

Another freed person, Nandakumar, used to take active part in his fight for the protection of environment in Kudremukh National Park, Shivamogga, Chikmagalur and other places.

But these two persons were arrested as naxalites and the duo had served seven years in jail. As Devendra and Nandakumar    were freed from the accusations, they were released from Mysuru jail. The duo, after coming out of jail, expressed happiness that they were freed of all accusations.
