Mysuru: A.K. Gupta, General Manager, South Western Railway (SWR), presented Safety Award to two Railway staff for their commendable work in preventing accidents.

Pankaj Kumar Madhukar, Loco Pilot of Harihar Depot and K. Sadiq, Guard of Chikjajur Depot, Mysuru Division, were honoured by SWR General Manager during the Co-ordination Meeting held at Rail Soudha, Hubballi, for their devotion to duty.

On Sept.5, 2017 during pre-departure inspection of empty goods formation at Haveri Station, the Loco Pilot and Guard noticed Bolster Cut in Wagon No. WRBCN 30080034923, which could have resulted in a major disaster, had the train departed with the wagon in the same condition.

They were awarded Safety Certificates and cash award.
