Two riders killed

Serial accident near T. Narasipur Toll Plaza

Mysuru: Two bike riders were killed on the spot in a serial accident between a car, bike and an autorickshaw near T. Narasipur Toll Plaza on Mysuru-Kollegal Road   yesterday night.

The deceased have been identified as Jayashankar (29) of Doddinduvadi village in Kollegal taluk of Chamarajanagar and Appu Gowda (29) of  Sathegala village in Kollegal.

Jayashankar and Appu Gowda were proceeding on the bike from T. Narasipur towards Mysuru when a speeding car, proceeding towards T. Narasipur, collided head-on with the bike near Induvalu village killing the two bike riders on the spot.

The car then reportedly hit an autorickshaw which was proceeding towards Mysuru resulting in the passengers sustaining minor injuries. T. Narasipur Police, who reached the spot, shifted the bodies to T. Narasipur General Hospital for post-mortem in their vehicle after the ambulance failed to arrive.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Mallikarjun Baladandi visited the spot and collected information.

Following the accident, traffic was disrupted for over two hours till the vehicles involved in the accident were cleared from the road.

Post-mortem was conducted this morning and the bodies were handed over to the family members. T. Narasipur Police, who have registered a case,   are investigating.
