Two sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for brutally assaulting friend

Hunsur: The 8th Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced two persons to three years rigorous imprisonment for brutally assaulting their friend over old enmity.

Those who were sentenced have been identified as Abhijith alias Abhi and Naveen of Hallada Kallahalli village in Bilikere hobli. The person who was brutally assaulted by them has been identified as Dinesh of the same village.

On Jan.28, 2013 at about 8.30 pm, Dinesh was proceeding towards Bettaduru Gomatagiri on some work, when Abhi and Naveen, who came in the opposite direction in a bike, brutally assaulted Dinesh on his face and head with a stone besides smashing the hand of Dinesh with a stone and fleeing from the spot. Dinesh was admitted to a hospital, where his hand was amputated.

Following the complaint lodged by Dinesh, the Police had submitted a charge-sheet to the Court.

Judge Jayashree of the 8th Additional District and Sessions Court (Mysuru Bench, Hunsur) who heard the arguments, found Abhi and Naveen guilty of the crime and sentenced them to three years rigorous imprisonment besides imposing a fine of Rs. 50,000 on each of them which has to be paid to Dinesh.
