Two teenagers killed in scooter-bus collision

Mandya:  In a ghastly road accident, two teenaged students were killed on-the-spot when the scooter they were riding collided with a KSRTC bus near Peehalli in Sriranapatna taluk this morning.

The deceased have been identified as B.M. Sandesh (17) and B.S. Mahendra of Bannahalli in Srirangapatna taluk.

Sandesh, a first PUC student and Mahendra, a tenth standard student studying at an Education Institution at Kottatti, were on their way to the Institution on a Honda Activa scooter travelling on Arakere-Srirangapatna road, when they were fatally knocked down by an oncoming KSRTC bus near Peehalli at about 8.30 am. The accident is said to have occurred when Sandesh who was reportedly riding the scooter tried to overtake a private bus and rammed the scooter into the KSRTC bus coming in the opposite direction.

Arakere Police have registered a case in this regard.
