Two-wheeler lifters held

One arrested, minor taken into custody; Seven vehicles worth Rs. 6 lakh recovered

Mysore/Mysuru: Udayagiri Police have arrested a youth and have taken a minor boy into custody on charges of lifting two-wheelers in city and have recovered seven vehicles from them. The arrested youth is 21-year-old Mohammed Shabaz of Ghousianagar in city.

Udayagiri Police, who were on their regular beat near Triveni Circle on Dr. Rajkumar Road, found the youth and the minor boy on a Honda Activa scooter and a Suzuki bike and stopped them for enquiry.

During interrogation, the duo are said to have confessed of lifting two-wheelers at various Police limits in city. Following the arrest, the Police have solved two cases each at Alanahalli, Krishnaraja and Nazarbad Police Stations and one case in Mysuru South Police Station.

Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered three Honda Dio scooters, two Suzuki Access scooters, one Honda Activa scooter and one TVS Apache bike, all worth about Rs. 6 lakh from them.

DCP (Crime and Traffic) M.S. Geetha Prasanna and Devaraja Sub-Division ACP Shashidhar guided Udayagiri Inspector P.K. Raju, SIs Sunil and Nagaraja Nayaka and staff Shankar, Siddiq Ahmed, Somashekar, Mohan Kumar, Sameer and Shivarajappa in the nabbing operation.
