Two women commit suicide in city

Mysuru: In separate incidents, two women committed suicide by hanging self in city. In the first incident, Sitara alias Smitha (25), wife of Anil Kumar and a resident of Ramakrishnanagar ‘K’ Block, committed suicide by hanging self at her residence yesterday.

Sitara, a resident of Gandhinagar, was given in marriage to Anil Kumar of Ramakrishnanagar five years ago and the couple have a son. She committed suicide yesterday at about 11.45 am, when other members of the family had gone out. 

Though her neighbours rushed her to a private hospital, the doctors, who examined her, told them (neighbours) that she had breathed her last.

A case has been registered at Kuvempunagar Police Station in this regard.

In the second case, Shabarin Banu (31), wife of late Syed Azmad Ali and a resident of Kalyangiri, committed suicide by hanging self at her house on Sunday night.

Shabarin was married to Syed 15 years ago and her husband had pre-deceased her eight years ago. She then left to Dubai for work and had returned after working there for three years. 

She was fighting a legal battle for her husband’s property at Yashwanthpur in Bengaluru and depressed over this, she has committed suicide, said Udayagiri Police, who have registered a case.
