Mysuru: With most of the Police personnel being deputed for election duty, chain-snatchers seem to be having a field-day as two incidents are reported one after the other in a span of half-an-hour at Nazarbad and Alanahalli Police limits on Tuesday.
The first incident took place at Siddarthanagar in Nazarbad Police limits at about 2.30 pm, where bike borne miscreants snatched a 40 gram gold chain from a woman.
The victim Geetha was on her way to Bannikaleshwari Temple at Siddarthanagar, when miscreants wearing helmets came on a black bike from behind and yanked off her gold chain.
At 3 pm, an elderly woman, identified as Vimala of Yeraganahalli, was walking near Galaxy Kalyana Mantap at Alanahalli, when a miscreant snatched her gold chain and fled from the spot.
Nazarbad and Alanahalli Police, who have registered separate cases, are investigating.
