Srirangapatna: Two youths, who had gone for a swim in Cauvery River at Balamuri on Sunday have been drowned.
The deceased have been identified as P. Darshan (19), son of Prasanna of Holenarasipur in Hassan district and his relative Dhananjay (19).
Darshan and Dhanjay had come to attend the wedding of their relative at the Kalyana Mantap in Balamuri and after the wedding they ventured into the river for a swim when they were caught in the whirlpool and drowned.
KRS Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted an investigation. The bodies were fished out and shifted to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru where post-mortem was conducted and the bodies were handed over to the family members. KRS Police have registered a case.
