Mysore/Mysuru: Two youths were stabbed and assaulted with a beer bottle by a group of people on May 2.
The youths, who were stabbed, have been identified as Chandan Kumar of Lakshmikanthanagar in city and Dhanush of P. Hosahalli in Mandya. Hebbal Police, who recorded the statements of Chandan, who is undergoing treatment at the District Hospital on KRS Road, have registered a case.
Chandan told the Police that he works at a private company and on May 2 at about 8 pm, when he, Dhanush and other friends were on their way to their houses, his (Chandan) colleague Ramya and her friends came in a car, stopped them and began to abuse them.
When Chandan and his friends walked a bit further, a group of unidentified persons, who came in an autorickshaw, chased him on Lakshmikanthanagar Road and one of the unidentified persons stabbed him with a knife on his left leg. When Chandan screamed for help, the unidentified persons fled from the spot.
Chandan also said that the unidentified persons assaulted his friends and took Dhanush in the auto and assaulted him with a beer bottle and helmet.
He also said that Ramya and her accomplices, out of revenge, had stabbed and assaulted him and his friends.
Based on the statements from Chandan, Hebbal Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
