Udayagiri violence: SI among three Cops suspended

March 27, 2025

Mysuru: Three Police personnel including the Sub-Inspector of Udayagiri Police Station have been suspended in connection with the stone pelting incident on Udayagiri Police Station. The suspension comes after one and a half months after the incident took place. Those suspended are SI Roopesh, Head Constable Prakash and Constable Santosh, who was in-charge of monitoring social media platforms. The suspension order was issued by City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar.

It may be recalled that, following a derogatory social media post against a religion by accused Satish, thousands of people, who assembled in front of the Police Station, accused the Police of not taking action against the person, who had posted the photo on a social media platform, pelted stones on Police officials, Police vehicles and the Police Station, creating tensed situation in the locality. Following the incident, SI Roopesh was transferred to the Automation Centre in City Police Commissioner’s Office.
